Why jiu-jitsu for your child?

If you're comparing kids' martial arts, here's what makes jiu-jitsu different.

  • No striking, no punching: BJJ teaches control, so kids learn to handle themselves without hitting.
  • Confidence comes from competence: they learn skills that actually work, not choreography.
  • Belts and stripes give them goals they can see, earn and be proud of.
  • They learn to stay calm under pressure instead of panicking or lashing out.
  • Respect and discipline are built into every class: lining up, listening, taking turns.
  • It's fun. Games, grappling and problem-solving burn serious energy every session.

Sound familiar?

  • Your child has energy that needs a better outlet
  • You want them to build confidence and learn to stand up for themselves
  • You'd like less screen time and more structure in their week
  • They've tried other sports that didn't stick
  • You want a sport that teaches respect, not aggression
  • You want to know exactly who is coaching your child, and watch every session

Questions, answered

Is BJJ safe for children?

Yes. Classes are age-grouped, structured and fully supervised, and BJJ has no striking: it's built on control, not hitting. [Coach vetting / DBS details to confirm before launch.]

What ages do you take?

[Age groups to confirm per school, e.g. 4 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 15.] Classes are split by age so every child trains with kids their own size.

Can I stay and watch?

Absolutely. Parents are welcome at every session, and most stay for the first few weeks.

What does my child need for the first session?

Comfortable sportswear and a water bottle. We'll provide everything else.

What happens after the 4 weeks?

That's entirely up to your family. The challenge is complete in itself: no contract, nothing to cancel. Either way, you'll see the difference in four weeks.

They grow either way

Their trial costs nothing. Another term of screen time isn't free: the habits they build this year are the ones they keep. One class and you'll see it.
